Kurt C Stange is a practising family physician and epidemiologist, the Gertrude Donnelly Hess MD Professor of Oncology Research, and Professor of Family Medicine, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Oncology and Sociology at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is an American Cancer Society clinical research professor and editor of the peer reviewed, indexed primary care research journal, Annals of Family Medicine. Kurt also directs the Center for Research in Family Practice and Primary Care, Cleveland, Ohio, and is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the (US) National Academy of Sciences.
Kurt is actively engaged in ongoing basic and applied research that aims to understand the core structures and processes of primary care practice and their effect on preventive service delivery and patient outcomes. This fundamental research has led to intervention studies of sustainable approaches to improving preventive care, and is discovering new methods of enhancing the comprehensive, integrative and relationship centred generalist approach to patient care.
